Default GA-8INXP

I am trying to configure my motherboard to run at 800MHz FSB since I have
just bought an 800MHz CPU and DDR400 memory.
The E7205 chipset supports the required 200MHz base clock easily and the
BIOS allows you to enter any clock speed from 100 to 300, so theoretically
it shouldn't be a problem.
BUT, as always, there is a problem since when you enter any number bigger
than 164 the board actually runs at 100MHz (it's default setting).
Is this just giagabytes way of making me buy a new motherboard or has
somebody out there found a way round this?

Thanks for any help,
Malcolm Dunn

Sorry that I can't help you, but I also planed this way for the nearby
future to update my MoBo when necessary. So I'm interested, if this
option would fit. Wish you good luck!

Why Gigabyte? It was your decision to try overclocking with this
board. The garantied FSB is 533/400. The CPU with FSB 800 will not
run.

It's Fact, that Tom's Hardware overclocked the ASUS E7205 MoBo (don't
even know the Modell-Name) even with a P4C and specified RAM-Modules to
FSB 800. So I also hope that there is a chance to do this with the
Gigabyte Board.
