Default Insprion 1100 - Notebook System Software, v.3.1.1, A10 - Windows 2000, What's the deal ?

Hi,

I'm running Windows 2000 Pro (SP4) and I have just downloaded the latest
Dell Notebook System Software, v.3.1.1, A10 software (File Date: 12/16/2003).

Release Title: System Utilities: Dell Notebook System Software, Utility, Windows 2000,
Windows XP, Multi Language, Multi System, v.3.1.1, A10. It clearly sates on the software
web page that XP and Windows 2000 are supported for this software update.

Yet when I try to install the software on my I1100 (A28 Bios) I get the following error message:

"This computer does not support this operating system"

Can you please explain to my why I can't install this latest system software update on my i1100 running
Windows 2000 Pro (SP4) ???

Thanks for your help

Peter
