Auto Iris
Can anyone point me to an article explaining about the different kinds of
auto-iris ? I have an Axis 2100 which points west and I don't want to have it damaged by the setting sun so someone suggested I get an auto-iris lens. Is it that simple? Doesn't the camera need to have a control unit to tell the lens what exposure it needs? How about power? Are there mains powers supplies available for the lenses or do they need to take the power from the camera? I've seen mention of video, DC or electronic auto-iris. Is there a difference and which do I need? I know axis sell auto-iris lenses, but I'm not sure if they work with the 2100. Also, I don't want to spend a lot of money so I was hoping to use cheapish auto-iris lens from a CCTV system on ebay. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks. -- "Thinks: I can't think of a thinks.
