"Orhan" wrote in message m... Hi, I'm running a Dual-Boot system (XP Pro + Win 98SE) and intend to buy a Winfast Geforce 6600 GT video card. But the latest available nVidia driver for Win98SE is Forceware 61.76 and it doesn't support Geforce 6600 cards. Should I wait for a driver update? Any comments, please. Orhan The latest nVidia for VGA driver version 66.94 should be able to support 6600GT model. Windows 98 / ME / 95 http://www.nvidia.com/object/win9x_66.94 Windows 98 driver can be use with 98 SE. CapFusion,... Today I received and installed my Leadtek Winfast A6600 GT TDH (AGP). It runs quiet and cool in my Antec Sonata TruePower 380 case. I installed 66.94 for Win98 and 66.93 WHQL for XP Pro. There is no problem with this card under XP except the texture corruptions in Far Cry.I think this problem is driver related. Doom3 and UT 2004 run fine. I didn't try any games under Win98SE. But the DirectX diagnostic tool crashes every time I try to run DirectDraw and Direct3D tests (DX 9.0b). Anyone with same problems? Thanks for the reply.
There are a lot of people having problems with the new 6600GT cards and the latest nvidia drivers both for XP and Win98: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?a...ighlite=6600gt I think I should wait for a driver update and try to install 9.0c then when the problems persist.
