Default Xerox Phaser 8560n versus HP cp3525n Printers

Hi:

I've believe I've narrowed down my choices to the Xerox Phaser 8560n versus
HP CP3525n color laser.

Both are rated at 30 Pages per Minute (PPM) Black and 30 PPM Color. Both can
be hooked up by either USB 2.0 or direct Network. They cost is about the
same at $600 to $650.

I will primarily use this to run about 30 -- 100+- page real estate reports
per month with many color graphs and charts and about a dozen embedded 4 x 6
inch full color photos of buildings per report.

I'll also use it for general office stuff such as creating about 100 (one
and twelve page) memos, proposals, or letters per month predominantly black
except for color logo letterhead. I also will need it to produce envelopes
and labels. Also occasionally printing web pages, drafts, spreadsheets, etc.

I'm running a peer to peer three station Windows-based network (through a
four input router) with Vista and XP Pro operating systems.

Besides any quality of print, ease of use, and printer reliability issues,
I'm also very concerned about the cost per page comparison (which may
include not just the ink/toner but any other required replaceable components
over say a three year horizon)..

The HP CP3525n is a new model with not a lot of feedback yet. It has one
black cartridge and three color cartridges (Cyan Magenta, and Yellow). The
cost of the black is about $125 for a 5,000 yield cartridge and about $185
for a 10,500 page yield cartridge. The cost for the color cartridges are
about $225 each
and are rated at a 7,000 page average continuous COMPOSITE yield at 5%
coverage (So I assume that means 7,000/3 = 2,333 pages per color cartridge)

I believe this means the cost per page is about 1.80 cent to 2.50 cents in
black at 5% coverage, and about 10 cents per page based on standard 20%
color coverage.

The Xerox Phaser has been out for more than a year and is operated with
solid (waxlike) ink sticks. They claim the cost per page is about 2 cents in
black at 5% coverage and about 11 cents per page color with 20% coverage.

I guess I'm looking for comments/concerns from anyone with personal or
secondhand experience with either of these two printers, particularly
regarding cost per page in color and ease of use and reliability, etc.

Thanks,
--
Steve
