Default Seeking a derivation of the Chipkill ECC algorithm

I'm seeking a detailed mathematical derivation of the
Chipkill algorithm, which does an advanced form of error
checking and correcting for computer memory. I've
done quite a lot of searching on the Internet for it, but
so far I've come up dry. Does anyone know where I
could find it?
