Default CPU Temperature Readings

Hi:

I need some help in interpreting some PC temperature numbers that seem
strange. I have a Sony VAIO with 2.4 GHz P4 chip. I have no problems
with it, but I installed the MBM software, set it to the Asus P4S533
motherboard (as shown by running AIDA32 software).

I get a case temperature of 95 degrees F and a CPU temperature of 194
degrees F from MBM. That was what I got when I first installed MBM.
Obviously, I have a problem.

As a test, I powered down and left the system off for four hours. I took
the side panel off. Everything inside felt at or close to room
temperature. But just as soon as I could get the system rebooted, MBM
showed the CPU temperature of 194 degrees F again off a genuinely "cold"
boot. The case was also at 95 degrees F.

I am not a hardware expert, but I cannot imagine the CPU getting that
hot that quickly off a stone-cold boot. Also, note that the CPU cooling
fan appears to be running fine.

Could I have bad sensors?

Also, I grabbed Hmonitor (Hardware sensors monitor) ver 4.1.4.5 off the
web. It confirmed the Asus P4S533 motherboard. It shows a couple of
additional sensors...

Motherboard at 96.8 F
CPU1 at 194 F
CPU2 at 96.8 F
Power Fan at 1366 RPM
CPU Fan at 4326 RPM
HHD2 @ 42 C (Note this one is in Celsus)

Plus voltages are red as follows...
Core @ +2.56 V
-5V @ -4.45 V
Aux @ +3.14 V

I have no idea if I just have bad sensors or settings or a legitimate
problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Jess
