Buying an Epson Printer with only 1 colour cartridge
I am trying to buy my son an Epson printer which has 1 colour and 1 black
cartridge I have found the C46 and the C48 do this but Comet,Currys or PC World do not stock now. Any suggestions where I could buy either or an alternative Blair |

Most printers are now going to separate cyan, magenta and yellow cartridges
because it is much more economical. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Printing & Imaging "Blair" wrote in message ... My experience is with my Epson 880 which I have had for years and produces very good results including colour photographs with a single colour cartridge I had always assumed that the 3 colour cartridges were more expensive to buy than the one cartridge with 3 colours. Do they run out at different times? Blair |

I always though that the separate colours were more expensive than a single
cartridge with 3 colours ! Blair "Cari" wrote in message ... Do they run out at different times? Blair You assumption is the opposite of most users. Common sense says that separate cartridges are more economical, as they can be replaced one at a time as the individual colour run out, while you must throw out a combined colour cartridge when only one colour runs out. I gather though that there was a recent study that found there was hardly any difference in it long term. But still - there is also no benefit to a single colour cartridge. |

Several seperate carts can be more expensive then the one cart but typically they contain more ink....but it's hard to compare sometimes. My HP printer has tiny carts compared to my old one but the ink seems to last longer - must be more dense or something. |
