Bad BIOS on SA 2SL
I tried to flash the BIOS on a SmartArray 2SL while it was installed in a
non-Compaq/HP server. Unfortunately, it failed. I put it in a Proliant 800 later to try again but the flash utility didn't recognize it. Is there a practical way of correcting this, or should I throw it in the trash and spend no more time on it? |

I don't think it is possible to recover from a failed BIOS upgrade on a SMART card. If you had a second 2SL card, the utility might then recognise it, but even then it is not likely to work. Note that the BIOS flash failing may be due to a hardware problem on the board. I suggest you check EBay to find what a replacement card will cost. I suspect the price will be quite low. The 2SL is getting pretty old, and it always was a lower end card. Aidan Grey |

I would recommend an SA221 as a replacement for that card. They are dirt
cheap, and support Ultra2 drives. - LC "Aidan Grey" wrote in message k.com...
