Corsair Nautilus Water Cooling
Took my AN8-32SLI and X2 4800 a step cooler, faster, and quieter yesterday,
replacing the AMD boxed processor HSF with the Corsair Nautilus 500 water cooling system. The boxed HSF wasn't too loud, but I had very little upside in overclocking with it. What a nice cooling system. Really easy to install and no noise at all, and dropped by processor temp from a decent (running C&Q) 100' F at idle - 130'F full bore, to 85'F idle and 100' F full bore. 15 degrees lower idle, and 30 degrees lower top CPU temps... wow... Motherboard temp also dropped 10 degrees, I guess from getting all that hot air out of the box.. Impressive. While 4800 X2 processors aren't much for overclocking, I'm now able to run reliably at 225 MHZ (2700 MHZ system) all day long. |
