Are there any Chicago area people looking for a couple of fully
functional 1600's that they can come and pickup for free? If so, please
respond.

Yeah, I moved out of the city (Pulaski and Irving Park) about three
years ago. I am now in unincorporated Lake County between Fox Lake and
Round Lake.

The 1600's are here in the garage. I can't imagine what a dazzling
urbanite like yourself could do with a couple old systems like these. I
prefer my 3000's. On the other hand, it might be cruel to unload a 1600
on someone as their "first Compaq Server".

If you feel they are worth the drive, I will happily send you
directions by email. But you have to agree to come inside and visit the
Compaq Beachtowel.

heheh, i think i have seen a picture of the said "beach towel" ....

to my knowledge, i have never actually met anyone i have corresponded with
here. its been going on ... 10 years.

So, i will agree to visit the beach towel, provided you not disclose my
secret identity ... I dont think i could stand the media exposure

btw ... what are the spec's on the 1600 config's... ?

; )

I have never had a secret identity, yet media exposure has never been a
problem.

I'll run Smartstart on the two boxes and get back to you with the
specs.

Jeff
