Default Memory compatability?

I have 32 sticks of 256mb chips that came from a sun quad processor
server, these chips fit perfectly into the proliant 6000 or 7000
server, the system turns on and registers 8gigs of physical ram but
shows up as not compaq memory, and chooses to lock up during boot.

MEM-CRI-256MB 7720

MEM-CRI-256MBWS 8892

Both From Transcend Technologies

Are these compatible or not and why would it even turn on if they wasnt?

couldnt find anything on google about those part numbers.

I wouldnt trust them.

Those 6000/7000 need EDO. The Sun box might have had FastPageMemory. Same
slots, but different technology. Could also be unsupported refresh speeds
(80ns?) rather than 50 or 60?
