Default errors using retrospect express s-ware --- too many??

I just used the s-ware to backup my 3 year old Dell Dimension 2400 via the
Retrospect Express Software.

I chose to back up ALL FILES. There were about 150,000 files. All went
smoothly, but at the end it did indicate 62 errors. I realize that's a very
small percentage, but is this normal?? Should I be seeing 0 errors?

Depends on the error. Possibly open files. Check the log.

Here is what the log says. I'm not sure how to interpret it. I suspect many
of the errors
(the ones that include the folder PCHEALTH) must refer to something that I
deleted but not completely. Also, many refer to System Information. Also, a
number of can't read error-- 1020 (sharing violation)

So, perhaps you or someone else can make some sense of this??

Well the file in use messages are pretty clear.

Some other comments:

1) I believe you must have Office or Works installed and, if so, you're
running Findfast. Lose it. It burns cycles.
2) You're also running the PCHealth program. Stop that too. Waste of
cycles.
3) You're running some variation of Dell support. Lose that too.

Get rid of those three running and useless programs and you'll get rid of
many of the errors. The others are for open system files and I'm surprised
the software isn't smart enough to understand that.

None of these are critical.

Maybe he needs more sophisticated bkup software? I've used Veritas /
Stomp's (might be Sonic these days) BackupMyPC for years and it uses the
Volume Shadow Copy feature to copy open files. Seldom run it these days
since I went to backing up to external USB2 HDDs.
