Watercooled 9800GX2
See the 2nd pic. This has got to be a world's first. I just hope the
compression fittings on the card are reversible for quad-SLI setups. http://www.stokedgamer.com/2008/03/c...dias-790i.html The watercooled card gives a good view of the 9800GX2's internal layout as well. -- "War is the continuation of politics by other means. Just how long is that thing? (please resist urge to insert joke) Looks bigger than any 8800 unit. |

Same as a 8800GTX/Ultra:

Maybe it's time to rethink the design of mobos and have cpus and vid cards externally bracketed or bent at 90 degrees or mounted in the drive slots or something, but certainly taken directly off the mobo. It's getting too silly jamming all this stuff on one board these days and it's going to get worse. |

This will never happen as long as Intel controls the basic chassis form
factor (ATX, BTX, etc.). Intel is primarily a CPU manufacturer, and its chassis standards will remain CPU-centric until Intel starts making its own enthusiast-grade video cards. In fact, Intel has been squeezing nVidia in subtle ways, for example by artificially making the QX9650 incompatible with the 680i chipset. -- "War is the continuation of politics by other means.
