Partition table is goofy
I have been having computer issues for quite some time now, but I
recently began gaining ground in the war versus this evil machine. However, its latest attack is one that has got me stumped. I have two different versions of FDISK; a DOS one and a Linux one. They both communicate directly with the hardware as FDISK should (as far as I know). However, each one sees the hard drive differently. They both see the two partitions that they should, but each sees them in a different order. And when I create or destroy a partition with one, the other gets extremely confused and system-wide chaos arises. Does anybody know what my problem is? Thanks in advance. |

Thanks in advance. i've noticed that myself... linux and dos's fdisk are different and it's best not to mix them... if you intend to make changes to your system be sure to use the same version of fdisk you used in the first place to set things up... ie: do not attempt to use dos's fdisk to change any linux partitions |
