mustek 1200 III EP

Dear group,
Here is the dumb question of the day. I aquired a Mustek 1200III EP
scanner, and it works well. It did not have a users manual with it
when it was given to me. How in the world do you turn the thing off?
The cathode will glow white all year long if ya let it. Was there no
power switch on these stupid things? Thanks folks.

Some scanners are built without a power switch. You can unplug it, or
plug it into a bus strip with a power switch. You should power it down
if not intending to use it for long periods, days. It will lengthen the
life of the lamp.

This scanner has no power switch. I plug all my peripherals into a
Phillips surge protector with a computer-current-switched power strip
(modified to control my Widows ATX-power-supply computer from an
external momentary switch) that turns all my peripherals off when it
no longer senses current to my computer's power supply -- i.e., when I
turn my computer off (in my case, with said external switch [which
also turns it on]).
