Default Asus P4VP-MX with Radeon 9800 pro problem

Hello..my first post!

Anyway, I was at a friends house setting up his new P4VP-MX motherboar
and intel celeron CPU. Everything went fine until we tried to instal
the ATI radeon 9800 pro. Here's what happened:

We put the ATI graphics card in the AGP slot and turned on hi
computer...nothing..the keyboard didn't work..the screen was black bu
the motherboard was on the graphics card was working. We unplugged th
graphics card and hooked his monitor up to the onboard graphic
processor and it worked. I installed windows xp..shut down the PC an
tried to install the ATI radeon 9800 pro again and another blac
screen. I can't even get into the bios. Here's what I think might b
wrong:

-Power supply not large enough (by the way, how can I check to see ho
many watts his power supply is?)

-conflict between the radeon card and the onboard graphics card (ho
can I disable the onboard graphics card?)

Thanks alot

The manual is a little foggy on this, but it looks like the
setting that determines how much memory the integrated AGP
receives, also functions as the Disable. Try this setting
in Advanced/Chipset.

"Integrated AGP" [Disabled]

Reading the BIOS descriptions on the download page, it doesn't
look like there have been any bug fixes for this board. So
the BIOS must be perfect :-) And the FAQ page has nothing
of interest either.

Try phoning Asus tech support, and see if they know of any
issues with the board.

If, after trying the [Disabled] setting above, you cannot
get the motherboard to display using the build-in graphics,
you may have to use the "clear CMOS" procedure, to get
the BIOS defaults to come back again. Just remember to
unplug the computer, before trying a "clear CMOS" operation,
to avoid damaging the ORing diode typically used in the
CMOS powering path.

Good luck,
Paul
