Default ? on Power Supply Connector HP Pav 8260

There is a four wire connector from the power supply to a small card that
supports the larger sound card. It only has a speaker and a mike jack. I
want to replace the power supply but a new one does not come with this
connector. What is it? What could it be? Does it matter? Manuals not
avail for this model at HP online. Anyone have a manual?

TIA
John

HP is good at using "Analog Devices" sound cards that have an on-board
amplifier so the "Polk Audio" speakers provided with the system don't need
an external amp or power supply. Unfortunately, they powered the card with
a proprietary connection from the power supply instead of just tapping into
a standard connection.

Like another person suggested, get a voltage meter and probe around - You'll
find that the while the color coding of the wires don't match up to
anything, the voltages actually do and you can splice into the leads of any
standard ATX power supply.

This was the case on an HP Vectra VA6 as well as an HP Pavilion 8160 - I've
owned both.
