196.75 drivers fail it
nVidia's latest statement on HardOCP:
http://www.hardocp.com/news/2010/03/...on_bad_drivers "We are still root causing the issue..." Never tried 196.75. However, I run my GTX285 at a constant 65% fan duty cycle with Rivatuner, so it probably wouldn't have been damaging. -- "War is the continuation of politics by other means. Hmm, still 196.21 on nvidia's site, think 196.75 is still beta and hence would have some problems. So I'll stick to the version I have on currently. -- Skipai |

Aye, someone emailed me on that and glad I don't upgrade right away in these circumstances. -- Skipai |

Tom L Version 196.75 was designed to increase sales of replacement nVidia GPUs. Heh, heh. Actually, a bug in 196.75 turned the fans off resulting in GPU failure. Who says software can't destroy hardware? |
