Default widescreen tv-out issue

I have a Leadtek 4200 8x My vivo and am having issues with tv-out.

When playing a divx/xvid film etc and outputting to tv, the overlay is
correctly picked up and sent to the tv, however the picture is
scretched out more than necessary. I can use the zoom function on the
television to correct this, but at great loss of image quality. The
video card/tv out unit appears to be adding additional black areas to
the top and bottom in order to 'correct the aspect ratio' for a 4:3
screen, but in this case doesnt need to be corrected as the tv is
widescreen. Why why why.... cant i get a widescreen option in display
properties. Im sure it was there in previous detonator drivers when i
didnt need it.

Note im aware that some films (2.35:1) are wider than widescreen
(1.85:1), and would still have some black bars (but not 2/3 of my tv
real estate..)

Thanks

Note

---------------------------------------Top of tv image correctly 16:9
---------------------------------------top of tv image correctly 2.35

Use some video player that allows you to choose the aspect ratio, like
BSplayer or ZoomPlayer2.
