Proliant 1600 "unofficial" CPU upgrade
I've recently acquired a PL1600 with a pair of 600mhz PIIIs in. Would
this system run if I was to put a pair of PIIIs in, using some kind of Slot 1 adaptor, such as this: http://www.processorupgrade.co.uk/acatalog/Slot_1.htmlI know it's a long shot, but 600mhz just isn't very fast any more...alexd-- ale.cx |

I would have to venture a guess and say, No.
The reason being is the your server supports up to a PIII600 on 440BX chipset architecture. Anything faster, and you are into the Coppermine core, and I am afraid that your chipset on the server does not support those. If you want CUMine chip support, eBay for a DL380, or some other socket 370 compatable machine. - LC "alexd" wrote in message om... I've recently acquired a PL1600 with a pair of 600mhz PIIIs in.
