MMC 9.0 "upgrade"
Has anyone been able to install MMC 9.0 over 8.x? Or even install 9.0 after
uninstalling 8.x? If so, i'd love to hear from you. neither 8.9 nor 9.0 would install for me over 8.8, or after i uninstall 8.8. The setup program will load/initialize and then simply disappear on me without any error. Help. Alan |

I went through the 8.9 uninstall and 9.0 install and everything worked as
normal. Obviously, after using CAT-uninstaller, you'll have to re-install all ATI
software, including drivers, DVD decoder, WDM driver, Guide+, everything. It will give you a clean slate to start with. -- Aloke ---- to reply by e-mail remove 123 and change invalid to com "Aloke Prasad" wrote in message news I went through the 8.9 uninstall and 9.0 install and everything worked as normal. Why is a step like this necessary? Normally uninstalls and/or upgrades take
care of all this for you? alan "Aloke Prasad" wrote in message news I went through the 8.9 uninstall and 9.0 install and everything worked as normal. OK,
I uninstalled 8.8. I ran the catuninstaller. i rebooted. I reinstalled the WDM. I rebooted. XP found all the "new" hardware. I launched the 9.0 install. same thing happened. it extracted the files, it initialized the installer. The installer disappeared AGAIN without any error. alan "Aloke Prasad" wrote in message news I went through the 8.9 uninstall and 9.0 install and everything worked as normal. Find the folder ATI\support\ and the mmc folder there. Try running
setup.exe to see if it will install that way. Do you have more than one WDM installed? If so, uninstall that and reinstall the ATI WDM. Reboot and cancel any "new hardware found" installation and do it manually. "Alan Olson" wrote in message ... OK, I uninstalled 8.8. I ran the catuninstaller. i rebooted. I reinstalled the WDM. Running it from that directory does the same exact thing.
From the control panel/Administrative/Device manager - there is only one WDM installed. How do i uninstall the WDM? alan "diener" wrote in message ...
