Standby Mode in P4T-E w XP Pro
Has anyone ever had any success with the System Standby mode in XP. On my
system when it comes out of standby it comes up with a message that it found a new network adaptor and reinitializes the battery back up. I have to manually clear the new harware dialouge box for the new network adaptor. If there are fixes for this I am going to build a little sensing circuit to shut off all the chasis fans on the 12 volt line when the system enters standby. I would like to be able to have the machine shut down, go quiet and come back on quickly instead of rebooting from scratch so standby mode would be nice. These don't seem to be major issues and having the fans stay on in standby is not useful but building a small sensing cicuit and shutting down the fans is not a big problem. I wonder why they don't provide adequate sockets for more chasis fans on the MOBOS? Is standby mode reliable, can you really leave the machine in this mode with the fans off safely and does it return to normal without other glitches? Thanks,,, Nat |
