advice on slightly clean reinstall
Hi,
I'm considering doing a slightly clean reinstall of win98se. This is on a clone pentium computer with a gigabyte board. That entails deleting the windows directory and registry, and having to reinstall all programs. I don't want to format because I'd like to skip the hassle of reinstalling all my data and directory trees. However, while looking at the list of programs under Add/Remove, I spotted the following two listings: a. W98-ME Promise MBUltra133 (PDC20276)(tm) IDE Controller b. W98-ME Promise MBFastTrack 133Lite (tm) Controller When I boot up I notice on the dos screen the 'Promise Lite' program running. If I delete Windows won't this program be deleted? Is this something I will have to reinstall or not? I'm assuming this has nothing to do with flash bios motherboard programs. Thanks, MB |

Hmmm... You might want to re-read the details of his plan to do a "SLIGHTLY CLEAN reinstall." I stand by my comment. But, hey, thanks for sharing. Not. -- DaveW "mark497" wrote in message om...
