Default is Smooth Shader 3.0 the villian ?

Just googled a bunch of tests ... and also some suggestions for
disabling Smooth Shader 3.0 on the 6800s. Seems it causes
screen stuttering and artifacts. My tests on the 6800s lately,
are telling me that something in the nVidia drivers is hogging
the video card ram, and forcing the card to use a swap file
too much .. causing the game to stutter and freeze up.
Could this be the evil villian?
