power on and fuzzy text on the screen
I have this problem with a Nvidia Geoforce 2 MX/MX 400 64Mb and a
motherboard KR7a-raid: I switch on the pc and the first screens of booting (before Windows 2000 starts up) show the usual text (CPU, Controller, HDs) with some heavy disturbances of extra text and strange characters throughout the monitor. If I leave the pc go on with the booting, Windows will start up, but I do not have the typical resolution on screen (the one I have usually with Nvidia. If I check the control panel seems that windows thinks that there is a dual monitor). However, if I stop and restart just few seconds after I power one (i.e. when I start noticing the fuzzy text on booting, before windows starts up), the second booting is ok, with clean screen text and usual definition of the graphic card under windows. In the motherboard bios the selection of the AGP seems ok. Could be possible a problem of dust or whatever? TIA for any help solving the problem |

Hi Robert Thank you. I will try first a clean action. Could be a motherboard or video card going bad. Could be the video card needs to be reseated. I could update the Firmware of both motherboard and video card. However for Nvidia, I am not able to find a download of the proper firmware for my model. Any help? Thanks again. |
