Default SUSE LINUX 9.3 installation hangs on GA-7VRXP

Hi,

I have a Dawicontrol DC-150 SATA Controller attached to my board, no
IDE-Disks but an IDE DVD/RW on the 2nd channel as master.

The DVD/RW is used to boot from the installation DVD of SUSE LINUX 9.3. The
sata_sil module loads fine but shortly later the installation installation
stops with the line 'Searching for info file...'.

As far as I googled out is the reason an incompatibility in the Linux kernel
with the VIA 82Cxx chipset on the Mobo. But since the installation of SUSE
Linux IS possible with a normal IDE-HDD, I'm not sure if this is the reason.

The normal HDD isn't mine. So I need to use my SATA-HDD.

Is there any way to successfully install SUSE Linux?

Regards

Detlef
