Were all generalllyy right....heheh

done a bit of homework. Here is some things ive found...

Often the GS's 'memory clock speed' isn't stated. From my limited
understanding this is probably 'cause really, who knows what the
individual rigs SLi is going to produce with mismatched ram and
consumer knowledge as one example. At least a single card rig would be
more predictable AND intuitive....

Impression also count. Generally, A GT (Grand Tourismo) will wipe the
floor with a GS (Grand Sports) and this reversinvg tricked me too...
Obviously, for SLi a GS is better..

at this stage we are buying a 7600GS (i think)....

because they are defective, go to pcper forum and find out.

You say all 7900's are giving problems?
Which forum messages are you referring to?

regards,
Marcel (also looking for a new gfx card)

many are, from several companies. ASUS seems to be having better
luck than others. Go to www.pcper.com, www.hardocp.com, or
http://www.evga.com/community/messag...sp?FORUM_ID=32

I buy a lot of hardware, but after this I would not touch a 7000
series card until it is well documented they have passed good strict
quality control.

Because cards are being put on the market so quickly the quality
suffers, and in the long run the customer pays the price.

Damn, I see what you mean.
Hope they get it sorted out soon.

The "problem" is just vendors going too far with the factory overclocks.
Just skip the OC / CO / Superclock / Extreme editions, save your money, and
run the cards at nVidia's reference clock speeds. There shouldn't be any
other problems.

Overclocking, like warez, should always be free.
