Default EVga Gforce 4 Ti 4200 (64MB) problems

I just swapped some old stuff for this card from a friend and set it
up in my machine - XP 2200+ with 512MB ram. The card started to work
just fine, everything was real nice, no problems.

I started to run ET (Enemy Territory) and the system would freeze up
in around 2 secs. Required a hard re-boot.

I have tried installing - both the regular windows certified drivers
as well as the detonators from guru3d.com, but this has not solved the
problem.

Anything that I am missing here?
