Default which 5.6 catalyst to use?

what is the difference between the 5.6 w/ control panel and the 5.6
w/catalust control center?

i just bought a radeon 9800xt and am expecting it via fedex in the next
week.

You don't want the one with CCC. The MS .NET framework is a resource hog.
And if try to install without it, it'll bugger things up for you.

The "Catalyst Control Center" & the MS .Net Framework it requires are a
major pain, in my experience - they added annoying pauses on bootup and
shutdown, so I got rid of them. Save yourself the hassle and stick with the
"Control Panel" version. The CCC is just pointless bloatware.

Agreed, the CCC is overcomplicated, slow and offers nothing the Control
Panel doesn't. I really hope the CCC doesn't become the only option in
future.
