Default 6BXDU has bad capacitors?

Hello.

In the last 6 - 8 months my computer has been spontaneously rebooting every
3 or 4 weeks.

I've been using this same hardware for several years: a Giga-Byte GA-6BXDU
(like a 6BXDS, but with U2W SCSI) dual P3/850MHz processors and 3 256MB
sticks of ECC PC100 RAM.

It has been suggested to me that this could be the result of the bad
capacitors that were in use several years ago. Does anyone know if the
6BXDU had/has a history of problems with its capacitors?

(I can't visually inspect the caps because I'm administering this system
from across the country.)

Thanks.

Don't have experience with the 6BXDU motherboard, but my 6BXE's, 6BXC and
6BX7+ did not have the problem caps.

Maybe drop a note to http://www.motherboardrepair.com/ and see if he's run
into problems with that board?

As for the reboots, if it's NT/Win2000/XP, is there anything in the event
logs to give a clue?

Hope that helps,
Bob.

Nope, nothing in the logs. The system runs fine for several weeks, then the
next logged items are the startup events.

Thanks for the pointer to Motherboard Repair.
