Corsair TX650 PSUs aren't that good or bad luck?
Hello.
I came home last night into my hot room (~80F degrees), turned the old Windows XP Pro SP3 desktop computer on, paid one of my monthly paper bills to let it boot up, heard loud crack/popp)ing noises (thought it was from outside/downstair making firecracker type noises), saw and heard PC shut down (was idling at the login screen), looked at it, heard more noises, smelled and saw smokes from my rear Corsair TX650 power supply unit (PSU) area, heard more loud noises, and then quickly turned off PSU's switch and unplugged power cable (avoiding a possible fire, more damages, etc.). This is not normal, right? Or am I just bad luck? Thank you in advance. -- Quote of the Week: "God is a mean kid sitting on an ant-hill with a magnifying glass, and I'm the ant." --Bruce Nolan (Bruce Almighty movie) /\___/\ Ant(Dude) @ http://antfarm.home.dhs.org (Personal Web Site) / /\ /\ \ Ant's Quality Foraged Links: http://aqfl.net | |o o| | \ _ / Please nuke ANT if replying by e-mail. I had it since the end of 2010. I was reading that a few other people had my symptoms too. That's not good. April 2011. Maybe whatever happened to yours got fixed in V2? (Yeah, right!) It is very few owners though. Even if it does blow up, it should not damage your hardwares. Nothing broke from it AFAIK. However, I saw one comment that said his hardwares got damamged. He wasn't lucky like me. -- Quote of the Week: "I am afraid that I am convinced that a community of human beings is a far more useful thing than a community of ants, and that if the human being is condemned and restricted to perform the same functions over and over again, he will not even be a good ant, not to mention a good human being." --Norbert Wiener /\___/\ Ant(Dude) @ http://antfarm.home.dhs.org (Personal Web Site) / /\ /\ \ Ant's Quality Foraged Links: http://aqfl.net | |o o| | \ _ / Please nuke ANT if replying by e-mail.
