Simple question about setting RAID
I made some research, but did not found what I was searching for.
I want to set two 80 gig HD in a raid 1 configuration (mirroring). Those 2 drives will contains my precious data like digital pictures, MP3s ... Briefly I want to set - 1 Independent drive (30 gig) for my OS (C Drive) - 1 Independent drive (120 gig) for applications (D Drive) - 2 Mirrored drive(80 gig each) (RAID 1) for my data (E Drive) I want to protect my data disk only. So I just want to set the raid for my drives with personnal data. Question: 1. Is it possible to set that configuration with the P4C800 Deluxe? 2. If yes, any hint on the setting? (Which cable where... drivers... setting in BIOS) |

Since you'll have the ICH5, not the ICH5R, you'll need to stick the C and D
drives on the standard ATA controller (ICH5), and the two drives you wish to RAID on the Promise Controller. Then you'll be booting from IDE-0 (C Drive) before the Promise (SCSI). Ben Hey thanks Ben! I'll try it out. Thanks for the info |
