NView!!!!!!!!!!
GOD DAMN this software is a piece of junk!
I've got an NVidia GEForce 5200 with TV-out. I'm trying to watch video clips on my TV (in another room), and it is proving to be a severe headache!!! NView with it's 'clone' monitor is the ideal choice! However when this mode is activated you can only see video on your 'primary display' which has to be specified, the secondary device remains totally blank whether the video is full screen or windowed. Ok no problem you may think, you set the TV as the primary device so you can 'see' the damn video, then you your monitor shuts itself off while the video plays on your TV. Fair enough, but how are you meant to configure ANYTHING at all when the only functioning display is in another room!!! JEESUS!!! Anyone found a way to get 'clone' mode in NView to do what it says, IE display exactly the same on both displays, instead of only showing video on ONE of them!?!? My old ATI card was so much easier! Just press play and both displays showed the video, allowing you to set any options in front of your monitor, then go through to the living room and watch video! Please, please, please can someone provide a solution! OR do I really have to throw this card into the street and dance it into pieces! ;o) Thanks Strutter |

Unless you're a gamer or do 3d rendering, the FX 5200 is a fine card.
Otherwise, for a few dollars more you can get the fantastic GFX4 Ti 4200 128DDR. Have a look at how it performs with respect to cards that cost twice the price: http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/...n_9600-07.html The Ti 4200 128 is the best value for the dollar. That does not work. When I do that on mine the video shows on the desktop,
but not on the TV. If I had of known that u couldn't watch a video on TV and still work on ur computer, I would have never brought this crap card. U can be sure my next card will be a ATI "Henric" wrote in message ... "Strutter" wrote in message ... Please, please, please can someone provide a solution! Ok Go to the overlay controls in the driver and set the secondary device as the secondary device as the video mirror full screen device. |

U can be sure my next card will be a ATI This depends on what videoplayer you use. I bet you use Windows Media Player. For DivX movies, you can try the DivX Player, BSPlayer also works well for a lot of movie types. You can, of course, also choose to use your secondary display (TV) for overlay, and then the video will show there (always full-screen) instead of on your primary. If you're in clone mode, the primary display should be just like normal. As a side note, I've done, and in fact am doing right this minute, exactly what you're saying. This is with a GeforceFX 5800, running detonators 44.03. -- Regards, Henric |
