Default PCI Memory Controller boot message

Hi all,
Just swapped out the RIB (RIBLOII) in a Compaq ML530 G1 (Windows 2000)
as I was unable to change the screen resolution with the original.
Resolution changes now work fine but on Boot it twice finds new
hardware 'PCI Memory Controller'

Telling it to search for drivers comes up blank and Windows Update
doesn't find anything for it either.

If I cancel, the server appears to run quite happily.

I'm not completely sure that this message is the result of the RIB
change or if it has always appeared as I don't usually deal with this
server.

I've had a look on the Net but struggling to find any information.
Can anyone shed any light on this message please?

Many thanks

Graeme

Did you load the drivers for the riloe board? You should see a new device
class called Multifunction Devices, and under that, you should then see the
riloe. If you dont see that in the device manager, you dont have your
drivers loaded. Also, be sure to run the SCU to update the NVRAM so the
device mapping table is complete and accurate.

Default PCI Memory Controller boot message

Hi,
there was originally a card in place, I swapped it out with this one
and it all works. I updated the firmware but didn't install any drivers
since it was working and I assumed that the drivers were in place.
I don't have a Multifunction Device item in Device Manager. There is an
'Other devices' and this contains two PCI Memory Controller with the
yellow warning sign.

Just been on and installed driver.exe for the card. Not able to do a
reboot at the moment but the installation seemed to be ok.

it should not require a reboot. I am not familiar with this driver.exe you
mentioned.

be sure you are using this package from the HP site:

Let us know how it goes.
