NEC ND-2510A can't read DVD+R9?
I just recently ordered some Memorex Double Layer DVD+R 2.4X discs. I
have a NEC ND-2510A DVD writer which is supposed to be able to read and write +R DL discs. I updated the ND-2510A to the latest firmware version, 2.18. Yet when I insert a blank disc it is not identified at all by Windows and Nero thinks it is a blank CD (?!). Is there anything besides updating the firmware on my drive that I need to do? I looked for updated drivers or something but the NEC site said no drivers beyond Windows' are necessary. |

Still, Windows isn't detecting it as a DVD ... it just pops up an error message when I double-click on that drive letter. When I put in "normal" DVD or CD writable media, it will at least tell me what format it is, how much free space it has, and it will offer to burn something on it using Windows (bleagh). Is it possible the problem is on a lower level than Nero? |
