Wide Screen Monitors?
Looking to upgrade my 7 year old Dell. Are there any good reasons to go
with a wide screen monitor other than a little more data on the screen? Bob |

Wide Screen Monitors?
I am looking at a new computer. Just wondering about the monitor options.

Unless you're planning on watching movies on it there is no point in having
a widescreen monitor. I am looking at a new computer. Just wondering about the monitor options. "Bob Levine" wrote in message news:wqHch.343$ne3.49@trndny03... Not sure I agree completely. For example, they're great for Excel. Very
convenient for a 2-page view in Word too. Love my 2405FPW "Joe" wrote in message ... Unless you're planning on watching movies on it there is no point in having a widescreen monitor. Not sure I agree completely. Well, I'm sure. It's complete nonsense. As you've pointed out spreadsheets are great and for Adobe applications with all their palettes, widescreen is the only way to go. Bob |

Bob For me the 24" monitor change my computing experience quite a bit. I can use it in portrait mode to see whole web pages without scrolling. I have it in a dual monitor set up with the 20" monitor from Dell which I am disappointed with -- it doesn't get nearly as brite as the 24". A friend is borrowing my Dell 17" monitor. When he returns it I will have a 3rd monitor because I have two video cards. It was hard to set that all up, and I had to download the driver from Dell's web site, do a reinstall, and reboot and it fixed the problem. The 24" in any dual monitor configuration is great. The monitors are not that expensive either. If someone wants the 20" one at a good price please let me know. I can be reached at jrny_of_life at charter.net |

No...you said you weren't sure. I am sure. I disagree completely with his assessment. In fact, I'll go so far as to say that movies are the worst possible reason for a widescreen monitor. That's what television are for. Bob |
