Default What Does the "-X" Refer to On the Model Number?

I just ordered an A7V8X and was wondering how it differed from the A7V8X-X.
I see the -X has no raid but adds some BIOS safety nets. Besides this, is
there any difference?

Exactly what does the "-X" designation mean when Asus adds it to a model
number?

Thanks,
Ric

It's a series of more basic cards for those who need a good card at a
budget, and who doesn't need all the bells & whistles of the fully packed
big brothers.

The A7V8X has an Nforce2 SPP (ultra400) northbridge [X version as
plain 400]. Not sure what the implications are.

It refers to the board supporting 8x AGP I think

Eh? No it doesn't! A7*V*8X implies a Via chipset, NOT nForce.

It does include 8X AGP however the -X or X Series ASUS boards are sort of
bare bones systems. They include KT400 with on board LAN and sound and are
available in AMD and Intel flavors.
