184pin 2700 ddr ram cl2.5?

Default 184pin 2700 ddr ram cl2.5?

my pc has in it one stick of 512mb pc2700 184pin ddr ram, what I would like
to no is if I buy 1024mb of 2700 ddr ram will it also have to be cl2.5, and
also what the hell does cl2.5 mean?. thanks.

CL refers to the cas latency of the RAM which has to do with how fast data
can be transferred/read/written to the ram.

Basically the lower the number on the ram the better, but the more
expensive.

CAS tells how fast your box accesses to colume. Unless you want to squeeze
last performance out of memory, like for 3d gaming, the difference
shouldn't be noticeble.
