Default Software, but about hardware

Thanks to everyone who offered help on my dead CD-ROM. It does show up in BIOS
so I am thinking maybe I need to reinstall some software. Since my drivers are
on CD, I have to download one. Does anyone know where I can find a driveer for
a HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8160B CD-ROM?

Is the IDE channel it is installed on enabled and are the drivers for that channel installed?
