1440 x 900 with Forceware 162.18 on Acer 1916W won't work correctly.

The resolution doesn't seem to work correctly if your using a DVI input.
VGA input ok.
The solution is to reinstall previous drivers.

I have the same monitor on my second computer, I was disappointed like you
were. what I made to fix the problem was just to press "e auto" and the
monitor is now fine and crispy.

Check your S/N : parts with ETL5209 have a bad firmware, highest
resolution for pnp driver on vista = 1280x960, the ETL800 series works
fine here. We had major problems with a pc action with more then 100
faulty pieces.
If this is your problem contact ACER and ask to swap your monitor.
