XP Pro SP2 setup failing with Abit AW8-MAX
I am trying to install XP Pro SP2 (32 bit version) on a new system. I go
through the setup and everything looks normal, hit F6 to load the Intel RAID driver, it loads it and continues loading what it needs to get started, then it says Starting Windows, and it blue screens with the following information: 0X0000007B (0XF7C79524, 0XC0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000) Any ideas? Following is the system configuration: Case: CoolerMaster ATXM TAC-T01 RT BK Power Supply: CoolerMaster RealPower 550W RS-550-ACLY Motherboard Abit AW8-MAX 955X CPU: Intel Pentium® 4 660 Processor Prescott 3.6GHz, 800MHz FSB, Socket 775, 2MB Cache (64 Bit) RAM: Corsair 1GB Kit DDR2-667 PC2-5300 Value Select VS1GBKIT667D2 VIDEO: eVGA GeForce 7800 GT CO PCI Express 256MB Hard Drive 2 Western Digital Caviar 250GB SATA II WD2500KS 250GB Serial ATA II 7200RPM Hard Drive w/16MB Buffer, configured as a RAID0 array (using Intel's Bios options) DVD+-RW: Plextor 16X PX-716SA/SW RT SATA drive, connected to the Silicon Image SATA controller (set to operate in IDE mode) Floppy: Mitsumi FA404A 404M (the only reason I have the floppy in is so I could install XP with RAID support) Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG 07/12/2005-i955-W627EHF-6A79IA1AC-11 |

XP Pro SP2 setup failing with Abit AW8-MAX
Good chance that it's a memory problem. Try two things. Relax your memory
timings and if that doesn't work, try swapping out video cards. "Joseph Mouhanna" wrote in message news:Wymvf.15584$Gu6.1106@trnddc06... Install XPS2 on EIDE hard drive then install SATA drive through windows, then make a 1:1 copy of EIDE to SATA drive, unplug EIDE and make SATA drive first boot, it should boot on sata. Why it wont install driver on XPS2 i dont know, but thats what i did, i hope it will help. |
