Default K8V-D: can't get SPDIF to send surround sound

Hola,

I'm using the digital SPDIF-out on the K8V-Deluxe but it will only give a stereo-signal to my receiver. I've tried all settings in the soundmax-config but no matter what speaker config I set, my receiver only gets stereo.

In WinDVD4 (came with the board) in the audio output config, when I tell it to use "digital SPDIF-Out to external processor" the receiver doesn't get any signal, when I choose "analog sound card" it will receive a stereo-signal.

What's the trick to make it send 5.1 (or: not exclusively stereo data)?

Thx,
Hjalmar

Got it to work. I just got rid of the soundmax-driver that was shipped with the board and installed the sound driver provided by via for their southbridge.
