cubx dead?

Hello,

I have a cubx which was working fine until I changed graphics cards. I had
an old matrox milennium PCI which I wanted to test if it still worked. Put
it in a free PCI-slot but forgot to take the present AGP-card out of its
slot.

Since then the cubx won't boot. Tried it with only the AGP card in it, but
won't boot. Cleared CMOS, but that didn't help either.

Anyone got an idea what's wrong?

I can't see this causing a problem. Of course it's possible you might
have knocked something loose when you did it.

When you say "won't boot" what exactly does it do? Do you get any output
at all? Will it get into the BIOS setup? Do you get any type of error,
eg beeps?

I get a black screen. The monitor remains in standby mode. As far as I can
jugde there is no HD acces.

$5 says either he changed the card without turning off the power supply mains
(POP!) *or* the agp card isn't fully seated in its socket (a not-uncommon
problem)...

That's what it looks like, but I unplugged the mains before installing the
card.

So are you sure you have the agp card solidly bottomed in its socket?

I know. It happened to me once, when I hotplugged a floppy drive. The drive
didn't survive.
Yes, the AGP card is solidly bottomed in its socket.
