I have a powerpod and use V5.12 trackercam software to control it. Works as advertised. Mine's a pint of Stella BTW ;-) Regards, Jeff. Not many in the UK with this kit, one thing I have found though is it wont allow me to change the FOV for the cam, have you found the same? Other than that am pleased with the product and the software, they informed me they plan to introduce mpeg streaming in a later version, sounds good. Pint of Stella coming up ;o) regards, Dion L Heap www.thetophouse.com |

I'm very pleased with the powerpod, it throws my old VHS-C camcorder around with ease. I have found that sometimes, especially if I have the powerpod connected to a USB extension (fully shielded active type), the pod sometimes makes spurious movements, usually a slow track left or right. I will probably invest in a proper extension kit which should cure that. I don't get that, I run mine through one of these :- http://www.expansys.dk/product.asp?code=BF-200A Which then goes to a belkin usb2 powered hub, from the hub I run off 2 short usb leads, one to the pod and one to the camera. I am informed by someone in the know that you can get a really good extended usb cable by making them up out of cat5 and rj45 to usb converters. I'm told (and this guy is a networking and cabling specialist) that you can go about 50 metres by doing this. Do a search for cat5 usb and it turns up a lot of hits. regards, Dion L Heap www.thetophouse.com |
