Default BBQ 200 attached to a Mac

I recently got a Memorex BBQ 200 cdrw and it said on the Quick start
doc that it attaches to a Mac and a Windows platform just by plugging
in. Also with it was a flyer saying you need minimum W98 SP2. I
plugged the cdrw in but found while I can read preformatted CD's ok I
can't recognise unformatted CD's and it doesn't say 'do you want to
format' as the mac help says it should. I looked on the CD that came
with it and in the pdf doc it said to install for mac you can just hit
the 'installer' icon on the cd or hit the button for 'Install
software' on the main page of the pdf doc. I tried both but found the
'install software' button could not execute as .exe was unknown on a
mac and when I tried to find an Installer icon it didn't exist on the
CD. In fact it looks like I can't install on the mac using the cd at
all.

Two questions :

1) What do I need to get this box to work?
2) Is BBQ 200 even supported under MacOS (9.2.2)?
3) Do I need a driver. There is not one on the Memorex website.

Thanks all.
