it may be associated with a non-windows application that has been installed
with drivers that are not running happily in windows if you go to device manager, you may find a yellow 'warning triangle' against the device experiencing/causing the conflict "antonio" wrote in message ... Can anyone tell me why "kernerfaultcheck" is loaded on my startup? |

Is part of a debugging proceedure for a problem that occured in the core of
the operating system (maybe from overclocking?) Look for the file in Windows Explorer, select the file, then click on properties and select the version tab. If it is a Microsoft file, it will give the publisher (Microsoft), file version, description (very short), and copyright date. -- Phil Weldon, pweldonatmindjumpdotcom For communication, replace "at" with the 'at sign' replace "mindjump" with "mindspring." replace "dot" with "." It's an MS entry used in debugging/creating a memory dump (Win XP, not sure about other OS)-go to "My Computer/Properties/Advanced/Startup and Recovery/Settings" the options are down at the bottom of the page "System Failure/Write Debugging information", depending on what options are selected here the Start-up entry will show up. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------ Start-up item : kernelfaultcheck Command : "dumprep 0 -k" or "dumprep 0 -u" Description : Used in connection with memory dumps - you can disable these by - right clicking on My Computer, selecting Properties and then the Advanced tab. Click on the Settings button in 'Startup and Recovery'. In the bottom pane - under 'Write debugging information' click on the down arrow and then select 'None' - OK your way out ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------- Note: I leave mine enabled so as to create a memory dump for further analyzing of crashes Mike G --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
