Not sure where that server falls in the overall product line, but it sounds newer than my Proliant 5500 by a little (my cpu's max out at 550Mhz).. Did you get a good deal on this system with the missing parts? I got mine for $180 about 6 months ago.. -- Rick |

On the 5000's there was a support way to have different processor cache
configurations. not sure about the 580. You can try it, but the system may bark about an unsupport CPU configuration. if thats the case, get 2 more 1M units, and sell the 2M packages. The 1M doesnt really get you "that" much anyway. Useful for databases, mostly, but not a very noticeable performance vector. Look for mem and peripheral boards on ebay. they show up occasionally. Also, check the QuickSpec archive on HP.com for part numbers for those things, then use that to do a google search. You are bound to find somewhere that is selling them, probably from texas. - LC "Rick F." wrote in message ... In article , Alex Blanco wrote: Well pick up my deal last night( a DL580).
