Default Power supply help

O.K.,I've given up trying to get this information from Compaq, since
everything they've told me so far has been wrong.
Maybe someone here can help.I'm trying to find the part number for a 250
watt psu for my Presario 5423US.I'd really prefer
a bigger supply, but Compaq only made 235 and 250 watt models compatible with
these systems,they're proprietary models
with 24 pin connectors. They were used in just about any 5000/6000 Presario
models with P4 processors.Compaq support
insist on using their spare part site to get this information, and it's
giving them parts numbers for the 5423(no US),a totally different
system.I tried to tell them that the site is making errors like this, but
apparently they don't care that they're defrauding their customers
with misinformation.

Hi !

Well, maybe this can be helpful :
http://www.compaq.com/athome/support/msgs/5wv4/

and more specifically :

http://www.compaq.com/athome/support...wv4/3misc.html

Power Supply 250w 253652-001 TO -004

Though typically, spare part sticker can be found on part itself...

Hope this helps !

Regards,

Serge
