Default Hercules 3D prophet 9700 pro and DVI resulution

I have got the above card and am looking to purchase a TFT monitor, probably
the LG L1710B 17". This monitor runs at a native resolution of 1280 x 1024
while my graphic card, according to its box, only seems to support a
maximum resolution of 1024 x 768 using DVI. I thought Radeon based cards
went higher than this?

I can find no further details on DVI resolutions, has anybody got a Hercules
card running at a higher resolution than 1024 x 768 with DVI? I don't want
to buy a new TFT monitor and find out that I cannot connect with its native
resolution using DVI.

Thanks in advance
